Writing help and web research, kept separate from logins that can change your ads or CRM.
Marketing teams keep getting handed AI tools that assume a developer is sitting next to them. A skill is a folder of instructions the assistant reads before it writes. An MCP server is a live connection that lets the assistant look something up, or do something, in another product. This page is the marketing shelf of both, so you can tell a writing aid from a login to your accounts.
Start with work you can check. Ask for a rewrite of a page you already know, a list of claims that still need a source, or an outline of an email you were going to write anyway. Compare the draft with the original before anyone else sees it. If the assistant cannot point to the sentence it changed, and why, do not publish the result.
Keep writing help separate from account access. A copy, SEO, or landing-page skill changes how the assistant works. It does not, by itself, sign in to your ads, analytics, or CRM. A web search or page-reading server can fetch public pages. A connector aimed at your marketing accounts can see customer and spend data, and some of them can change records. Read the permissions on a listing before you install it.
Give the assistant the same constraints you would give a new hire. Name the audience, the offer, and the words you are not allowed to use. Tell it not to invent customers, reviews, or results. This directory follows that rule too. There are no star ratings, subscriber counts, or claims that most teams pick a given tool, because we have not measured that.
Every summary here was written from the project's own README or official docs in October 2026. Untested means nobody at SkillsByRole has run that listing against a live account. Install buttons move. If a step on the detail page does not match what you see, the source link is the place to check, not a screenshot from memory.
A practical order is one writing skill, used on a page you can afford to throw away, then a search server if you need sources you can open yourself. Leave anything that can edit ads, audiences, or CRM records until the person who owns that system has read the permissions and knows how to revoke the connection.
A free pack of instruction files that teach an AI agent marketing work such as conversion reviews, copy, SEO, ads, email, and launch planning. It is built for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other agents that can read the Agent Skills format.
An Anthropic skill that restyles artifacts with Anthropic's own colors and fonts, including Poppins for headings and Lora for body text when those fonts are installed. It is Anthropic's look, not a way to load your company's brand.
Firecrawl's official server lets an agent search, scrape pages into clean text, map a site, crawl, and interact with a page. A keyless hosted tier can search, scrape, and parse within limits; crawl, map, and the research agent need an API key.
HubSpot hosts an MCP server at mcp.hubspot.com so an AI tool can read and update CRM data with the signed-in person's existing permissions. The GitHub repository at the source link is empty, so this entry follows HubSpot's own docs rather than code in that repo.
Exa's official server searches the web and reads pages as clean text for an agent. The hosted server works anonymously with rate limits; higher limits and the Exa Agent tool need a sign-in or an API key.
Tavily's server gives an agent search, extract, map, and crawl tools against the live web. You can use Tavily's hosted address with an API key, or run the server yourself.
Brave's official server connects an agent to the Brave Search API for web, image, video, and local results. Full local-business details require a Brave Search Pro plan; otherwise local search falls back to web results.
Anthropic's PowerPoint skill creates, reads, and edits pptx decks, including templates, notes, and comments. The deliverable is a slide file you should open, not a description of slides in the chat.

Questions
What is the difference between a marketing skill and an MCP server?+–
A skill is instructions the assistant follows, such as how to review a landing page or draft an email. An MCP server is a connection to another product, such as web search or a CRM. The skill does not log in anywhere unless you also connect a server.
Can these tools post to my ad account?+–
Only a connector with permission to that account can. The marketing writing skills in this directory do not, by themselves, sign in to Google, Meta, or your CRM. Read the permissions list on each listing before you connect anything that can change live campaigns.
Do I need a developer to try one?+–
A writing skill is often a copy-and-paste install inside Claude or a short terminal command. A hosted search server is usually a web address you paste into your AI app's connector settings. Anything that says terminal on this site expects someone comfortable running a command.
Why does every listing say untested?+–
We have not run these against a live marketing account. The description is taken from the publisher's own docs. Untested is a status, not a verdict.
